OptiFine originally developed 6 editions - Light, Standard, Smooth, Multi-Core, AA and Ultra editions. All of them, however, were discontinued except Ultra edition, which is only edition still in development.
History[]
The first 4 editions - Standard, Smooth, Multi-Core, and AA editions were added in Minecraft Beta 1.7.3. Later, when Minecraft version 1.1 was released, the Light edition was published with all other versions of OptiFine. In version 1.2.5, the 6th and last OptiFine's edition was made - Ultra Edition. It was a mix (a combination) of Smooth, Multi-Core, and AA editions. There were all features, that were ever added to OptiFine. Players can optimize their games for absolutely incredible performance and speed. Starting from Minecraft version 1.3.2, Multi-Core, Smooth and AA editions were discontinued. That means only Light, Standard, and Ultra editions were updated for new versions. The last versions for Light and Standard editions were released in Minecraft release 1.7.10. After their abomination, only Ultra edition is in development.
